Frequently Asked Questions
My husband passed away 10 years ago. Can I still apply?
Yes. There is no restriction on how long ago the husband passed away. As long as you are currently widowed and meet all other eligibility criteria, you can apply at any time.
I have an adult son who earns a salary. Am I still eligible?
If your adult child regularly supports your household financially, this may affect your eligibility during the field verification stage. The verification officer assesses the actual household income and circumstances, not just the declared information. It is important to provide accurate information during application.
Can a widow who remarried apply?
No. The Bewa Sahara Card is specifically for women who are currently widowed. Remarriage ends eligibility for the programme. Existing beneficiaries who remarry are required to inform the PSPA office.
